Following a flat tire last week, I had to temporarily switch to snow tires, and when it’s 20 to 25 degrees Celcius outside, IT SUCKS! But here are some Yokohama Neova AD07 in 195/60/14, all that on original Watanabes... Can’t wait to properly try them!

950kg car that only has 190hp :)

Bigger tires would ruin the nimbleness of the car. Even RE-Amemiya on his 275hp NA SA22C rocket stayed with 205 on all 4 corners.

My Miata makes 110hp at a mile above sea level. It’s on 8" wheels with 225/45-15 tires. It won't ruin the nimbleness, it will make it grip like never before.

Looks great, nice that you managed to find a somewhat period correct looking tiresize. Meaty sidewall for the win!

I don’t need more grip with AD07s... Tried AD08r but it was just too much for a daily use. I have also tried bigger wheels on the 7. It’s just not as reactive, especially over the limit. Also tires too grippy with that few power and torque are a recipe for disaster in the roads I drive on. Powering through a slide is fine with what I have now but it’s the absolute limit for this car to hold a comfortable slide without tank slapping if you get over a few degrees of slip angle.

Yeah I wanted to stick with the original as much as possible a and 195/60/14 with AD07 actually equals the width of the 205 I had before (Toyo Proxes 4 which lacked grip a lot compared to the Yokos).

Original size was 205/60/14 so I’m pretty much spot on now but with lots of grip compared to 31 years ago haha

I’m all about that. The paint, the hood louvers.
